  Ordered battered cod and chips. The cod wasn't battered or cooked. Fish had no texture . Sent it back and ordered the fish cakes instead. Fish cakes arrived at my table (no Knife and fork) and transpired to be cold in the middle. Complained to manager who then argued. Terrible restaurant

  I booked Apple Tree restaurant for a Sunday lunch to treat my daughter when she visited me. To my disappointment the service was substandard. Half of the food items on the menu were not available. We ordered drinks before our food but our food arrived before our drinks. To top it all up my wife found a small piece of glass in her food. When she tried to take it out, she cut her finger. It was disgusting!! The glass could have been infected and it could have done more damage, had she swallowed it. We tried to speak to manager but he was not available. We contacted him on his mobile phone and complained. He promised to investigate and get back to us. We are still waiting! One certainly does not expect this kind of service from any kind of restuarants. I was informed that Apple Tree Pub and Restaurant was under new management again. In my opinion serving contaminated food is illegal and cannot be excused for any reason. I will advise people to stay away from this restaurant. I certainly will not be going back even if they offer free meal.
